This is School Choice Week. Educational freedom allows parents to chose the school that is best suited to their children. A lot of children are stuck in failing schools because they don’t have the opportunity or resources to go elsewhere. School Choice options provide some students an alternative.
Speaker John Boehner addressed students at a School Choice rally this week. He spoke of his education and how his parents sacrificed to send all twelve of their children to Catholic Schools. The Speaker wore his heart on his sleeve when speaking of his family’s sacrifice and his wishes for all children to have a similar opportunity to go to a school that isn’t defined by their zip code.
Many describe School Choice as the civil rights movement of this generation.
