Scary news out of Detroit: A threat was made to kill police, specifically mentioning Detroit Police Chief James Craig.
Graffiti was found in the city that said, “Kill All Police, Kill James Craig.”
Chief Craig, who is black, addressed the threat personally, according to CBS Local, “Is it troubling? Absolutely. Do we take it serious? Yes we do. Given the environment that we’re in today, we don’t take threats lightly. Any time you threaten a Detroit police officer — and now the Detroit Police Chief — that’s a threat on all of us.”
Craig had a warning for the perpetrators:
“Just know this — I will not be deterred,” Craig said. ” Whatever your motives or reasons for that, we will continue to do what we do, we will continue to fight this fight…we will continue to reduce violent crime in the city of Detroit, regardless of what idle threats individuals might make.” …
“The coward that did this, just know, it’s a matter of time — we’ll find you,” Craig said.
Craig said that whomever tagged the message might be looking at felony terrorist threat charges.
“Cowards, cowards. There’s only one thing to say,” Craig said. “Not one of them would do the job that our men and women in blue would do. We run toward gunfire, they run away. They’re cowards, they hide behind their basements of their parents’ home in some instances.
“We’ll find them, we always do,” Craig said.
Police departments are on high alert after several ambushes by people inspired by Black Lives Matter protests. Black Lives Matter is a movement based on lies, hatred and violent rhetoric and it is from this lack of accountability that threats to kill police have become acceptable in some communities.
There has been a lot of racial tension in major cities across the country and Obama has done nothing if not encourage unrest, meanwhile our brave men and women in blue are on the front lines facing increasing danger and direct threats.
What Obama has done to race relations in this country is shameful. Too much blood has been spilt, let’s pray our next president will be able to restore law and order in this country and bring us back together again.
