Brexit Leader Nigel Farage to Attend President-Elect Trump’s Inauguration

Trump inauguration

During the 2016 presidential election, President-elect Donald J. Trump came out in support of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union, commonly known as Brexit.

The leader of the Brexit movement was Nigel Farage, a former UKIP leader and vocal Trump supporter. Farage made an appearance on the campaign trail for Trump and now we have learned he will be appearing at his inauguration on January 20.

Farage made it known that he believed Trump’s historic victory over Hillary Clinton was similar to Britain’s decision to leave the E.U., saying Trump had a “message of hope and optimism” for Republicans and the nation.

From Politico:

The veteran Brexit campaigner styled himself as a mediator between the incoming U.S. government and Theresa May, and was the first British politician to meet Trump after his electoral victory. However, May’s government was quick to reject Trump’s suggestion that Farage would make a good British envoy to the U.S.

“I can’t wait,” Farage told Sky News. “It’s going to be a great, historic event… In America, they’ve had a political revolution and it’s complete; the problem in Britain is our revolution is not complete because the same people are still in charge.”

While some have criticized Trump for the so-called lack of star power attending his inauguration, the president-elect said he wants real Americans to attend, and that he doesn’t care if Hollywood elites don’t want to appear.

Farage realizes that America, like Britain, voted for change which is why they elected Donald J. Trump over the establishment politician that is Hillary Clinton. The British people were sick of their country being controlled by the European Union and wanted their country to have a better future, as did millions of Americans who turned out to elect Donald J. Trump.
