Over the last several weeks, President-elect Donald J. Trump has made several high-profile cabinet announcements, including, Departments of Defense, Education, and Justice.
Well, Trump has just revealed that he will announce “almost all” of his remaining Cabinet choices by the end of next week. While his transition team revealed that no more cabinet appointments are expected this week, Trump hinted that more news is coming “literally very soon.”
During an interview with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt, Trump said “We have some other announcements coming up literally very soon, and people are loving our choices so far. We’re gonna have an amazing Cabinet.”
The President-elect said the American public can expect more cabinet appointments to roll in “big league” next week and that “We already have some that we have, but they’ll be starting next week big league. We have some tremendous people, tremendous people that are coming in.”
Trump pointed out that his administration is “getting credit for having one of the great Cabinets ever picked” adding that his choices as “people of great distinction, great success. Which is what you need. You know, you’re negotiating with people. You can’t have people that didn’t know how to get there. And we have tremendous people joining the Cabinet and beyond the Cabinet. So you’ll be seeing almost all of them next week.”
As Politico points out, Trump has yet to officially name secretaries for interior, agriculture, labor, housing and urban development, energy, veterans affairs, homeland security and state.
Many conservatives are worried about the potential nomination of Mitt Romney as Secretary of State, with campaign manager Kellyanne Conway coming out against the former Republican nominee. However, Trump has said he and Romney have had a “great talk” and he is in the top four candidates under consideration for the position.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who was a longtime Trump supporter, Senator Bob Corker and General David Petraeus are also among the finalists for Secretary of State.
