By now, most Americans are well aware that Hollywood, and the entertainment industry in general, is full of far-left activists who criticize anything and anyone that does not fit into their liberal bubble.
Fortunately, there are some in Hollywood that refuse to buy in to the Hollywood liberal cult -like Jon Voight, Clint Eastwood, Vince Vaughn, and Mel Gibson – but they are few and far between. There’s one more Hollywood star who stands up to liberalism, and his show on ABC, Last Man Standing, is actually one of the few television programs that allows conservative views to be portrayed in a positive light.
Of course we are talking about Tim Allen, and in a recent interview he came out hard against the left, saying they want “to tell everybody” what to do with their life.
Speaking with PJ Media, Allen blasted liberals for always trying to tell Americans what to do, stressing that “no one is stopping you from paying more taxes.” He also explained that his comedy style makes him “more of an anarchist”:
“I don’t like anybody telling me what to do and, lately, the left wants to tell everybody – it’s the ‘we all know this, you should, you should.’ Stop telling me what to do, you go do it. You want to support stuff that the government should stay out of? You go do it. No one is stopping you from paying more taxes. Then, that’s the attitude I get.
…
You see my act on the road or in concert – I don’t do political stuff. I do anarchist stuff. I like making everybody laugh. Jokes should be – President Trump should laugh at it, so should Hillary – that’s the balance I like; the personal stuff is different.”
During the interview, Allen also commented on celebrities in Hollywood who are actively encouraging people to oppose President Trump:
“It’s a free country. These dudes can say whatever they want. I am a comedian. It’s different. I’m a political comedian that says stuff, but it’s usually about men and women and good and bad and rich and poor – that’s my avenue and I’m able to do that. God bless America – people come to see me but opinions are like butts, everybody’s got one. I say to these guys, God bless them for doing that, it’s their opinion, it’s no more valid or less valid than anybody else’s.”
The Political Insider has long documented some of Allen’s epic commentary about liberals. During the 2016 campaign, Allen spoke out against liberals who attacked First Lady Melania Trump over her accent, noting “What I find odd in Hollywood is they didn’t like Trump because he’s a bully,” Allen explained. “But if you side or had any inkling that you’re for Trump you got bullied for doing that.”
On his show Last Man Standing Allen routinely mocks liberals, like the episode when he hilariously compared the Clintons to herpes. During another episode, he and guest Jay Leno joked about Obama’s love of regulations.
Thankfully, Tim Allen has the courage to stand up to the Hollywood left and remain funny while taking on liberals at the same time! Kudos to him!
