Obama Demands All States Lift Their Iran Sanctions, So Texas Did THIS!

Texas Governor

In early April, President Obama’s State Department sent letters to all 50 states urging them to lift sanctions on Iran, advising them not to interfere with implementation of Obama’s disastrous 2015 nuclear deal.

“Some states have adopted laws designed to incentivize Iran to change its behavior in certain ways,” the letter read. “If that is the case in your state, I would urge you to consider whether the implementation of the JCPOA, which verifiably ensures that Iran’s nuclear program is and will remain exclusively peaceful, addresses the underlying concerns with Iran articulated in your state’s law.”

The JCPOA is referring to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or basically, the Iran nuclear deal.

Now, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has sent a letter of his own, essentially telling Obama that no, his state will not be an accomplice in supporting Iran’s terrorist activity.

“Because the Iran deal is fundamentally flawed and does not permanently dismantle Iran’s nuclear capability,” Abbott wrote, “Texas will maintain its sanctions against Iran.”

It gets even better than that.

Instead of simply maintaining his state’s sanctions against Iran, Abbott told President Obama that Texas would actually increase them.

Abbott wrote, “Further, because your administration has recklessly and unilaterally removed critical sanctions, I have called on the Texas Legislature to strengthen the Iran sanctions that Texas already has in place.”

Abbott appeared on Greta last night to explain his actions …

Via Fox News Insider:

He (Abbott) said On the Record tonight that maintaining the sanctions is the right thing to do stand with Israel.

“Now that the sanctions have been lifted, what the United States is opening the investment door back up. And we’re saying ‘No, we’re not going to open the investment door back up, in fact we’re going to close it even tighter and put a lock on it.”

He hopes that states across the nation will join Texas in rejecting the Iran nuclear deal.

“Hopefully all 50 states will join with Texas in sending a message to Iran that we do not agree with your policies. We do not agree with the message that you sent to Israel by launching that missile that said ‘Eliminate Israel from the face of the Earth.’

All of this comes on the heels of the Obama administration admitting they lied to the American people about the Iran deal in the first place, manipulating the media into selling the plan.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has criticized President Obama, saying he “negotiated a disastrous deal with Iran” and that “under a Trump administration, Iran will never, never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.”

He seemingly agrees with Abbott, saying the deal had strengthened Iran at the expense of Israel.
