Secret Service Agent Who Refused to Take a Bullet for President Trump Under Investigation

Earlier this week, we at The Political Insider reported on a rogue Secret Service agent who took to Facebook and admitted she would not take a bullet for President Donald J. Trump.

The woman, identified as Special Agent Kerry O’Grady, was rightly criticized across the country, including by her fellow agents, because as we all know, the Secret Service must protect the president regardless of their personal feelings towards the individual in the White House.

Well, we have now learned that O’Grady is under investigation for her comments, as her public criticism for President Trump and vocal support for Hillary Clinton may have violated “a provision of the Hatch Act which bans most federal employees from engaging in political activity.”

Here is a copy of O’Grady’s now deleted Facebook post courtesy of The Washington Examiner:

In an interview with The New York Times, the Secret Service acknowledged they were aware of the post and were taking “quick and appropriate action” to determine what punishment, if any, O’Grady should receive.

More from The Daily Caller:

O’Grady appears to have deleted her Facebook account, and told The Washington Examiner the post was an emotional reaction to Donald Trump’s lewd comments regarding women in a now infamous leaked tape. She repeatedly stated her views would not get in the way of her job to protect Trump as the president. Her role involves coordinating with Washington-based Secret Service teams for all presidential candidate and presidential trips to her area in Denver.

It is imperative that the Secret Service take swift action against this rogue agent and punish her for likely violating the Hatch Act and the code of conduct entrusted to all agents assigned to protect America’s leaders.

As of this posting, it is unclear what, if any, sort of punishment O’Grady will receive. As noted by The Daily Caller, this incident was not O’Grady’s first time using her social media presence to make political statements:

In a late November post captured in a screenshot, O’Grady wrote: “We are moving our civil rights into a period of bigotry, misogyny and racism that this country has not tolerated for decades. Dark ages. I am horrified and dismayed beyond words.”

How should O’Grady be punished for her actions? Should she be fired from her job or just reprimanded? Share your thoughts with us below!
