So this is the solution to school violence! A school in Alabama forced a 5-year-old to sign a contract promising not to kill anyone after she pointed a crayon at a classmate and said “pew pew.”
The 5-year-old girl was also given a quiz about her mental state.
The girl’s mother spoke off-camera to NBC News and said her 5-year-old had asked her what suicide was and why the school thought she might do it.
“While I was in the lobby waiting, they had my 5-year-old sign a contract about suicide and homicide,” the girl’s mother said.
“There should be a different way to handle this situation. If this is protocol it needs to be looked at again,” she added.
This is what “zero tolerance” idiocy has come to. Schools are turning perfectly healthy, normal children into criminals while simultaneously doing nothing to prevent the next school shooting. Only a heavily unionized, government-run system, like the one that operates American public schools, could come up with a punishment so asinine.
