RNC Chair Preibus Holds DNC Chair Wasserman Shultz’s Feet to the Fire

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz squared off on Fox News Sunday yesterday.

With the chances of holding the Senate sliding quickly, Democrats have lost confidence in Wasserman Schultz. This was highlighted in a recent Politico article charging that President Obama was not pleased with Schultz’s job performance. Even the recycled War on Women theme is not working this year for the Democrats. Priebus took the opportunity to mention this to Schultz.  She did not counter his comment.

DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: “We are going to hold the Senate. Because over the next couple of weeks, leading up to even today, the one question that voters are going to ask themselves, Chris, is who has my back?”

. . .

REINCE PRIEBUS: “The President hasn’t had anybody’s back: he hasn’t even had your back….Barack Obama is losing women in the United States today. This issue is backfiring on Democrats.”

Polling predicts the Republicans will have sweeping success in next month’s midterm election. Chances of taking the Senate are now at 62 percent according to FiveThirtyEight while the New York Times model puts the chances at 69 percent.

After poor results at the polls and questionable comments equating conservatives to wife beaters, Debbie Wasserman Shultz’s tenure at the DNC could be ending. Do you think she will continue as Chair?
