Texas Governor Rick Perry, a conservative superstar, has taken his bogus indictment better than anyone could have imagined. He is even selling t-shirts with his mugshot on it!
However, the bad news for Perry is that, even though he is the leader of America’s 2nd largest state and a staunch defender of 2nd Amendment gun rights, he can not carry a concealed handgun or buy guns and ammo, thanks to his indictment and Federal law.
Perry always carries, and claims to have shot a coyote with a concealed firearm while jogging in 2010… but would have his concealed carry license revoked for AT LEAST two years if he is caught with a firearm… until this ridiculous legal case is over.
Here is the part of Federal law that prevents Perry from buying guns and ammo:
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person (1) is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year. ( 18 USC 922(n))

Isn’t it incredible how far the left will go to criminalize politics? All Perry did was make good on his promise to veto funding for a government agency after Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg was arrested and convicted for drunken driving. For doing what any serious governor would do, Perry now faces charges that come with the punishment of 109 years in prison. And now, Perry loses the Constitutional right to defend himself.
