Prominent Democrat Says Obamacare Written by ‘Elitists’ Who Don’t ‘Understand the American People’

Former DNC Chair and Presidential candidate Howard Dean appeared on MSNBC and ripped Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber for thinking the American people were too “stupid” to understand what they were trying to accomplish with the law.

Dean claims that Obamacare was “put together by a bunch of elitists” who “don’t fundamentally understand the American people.”

Two things are shocking from this video clip (see below).  One, the fact that MSNBC finds Dean relevant enough to continue interviewing.  And two, that Dean would rip the President’s signature piece of legislation in such a harsh manner.

Via the Free Beacon:

“The problem is not that he said it. The problem is that he thinks it,” Dean said. “The core problem under the damn law is it was put together by a bunch of elitists who don’t fundamentally understand the American people. That’s what the problem is.”

Brzezinski cringed after repeating Gruber’s quote.

“Jesus!” Dean exclaimed after hearing that one of Obama’s key health care advisors would call the lack of transparency “critical” in passing the massively unpopular law.

Having Dean so fired up over Gruber’s comments makes you just want to scream your approval, doesn’t it?

Is Howard Dean right that Obamacare was written by elitists who don’t fundamentally understand the American people?
