With new revelations from the FBI as a backdrop, the Republican chairman of the House committee investigating Hillary Clinton’s emails has announced new hearings into why aides to the former Secretary of State deleted emails even after they had been subpoenaed.
Even better – these hearings will rope in top State Department officials, a top adviser to Clinton, and even FBI director James Comey to testify under oath.
“We will be holding hearings,” Chairman Jason Chaffetz of Utah announced.

FBI Director James Comey, top State Department officials and — perhaps — Hillary Clinton adviser Sidney Blumenthal will soon testify on Capitol Hill about the former secretary of state’s email scandal.
“We will be holding hearings,” Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday.
Chaffetz said that Comey is slated to appear in front of the House Judiciary Committee next week. And Patrick Kennedy, the State Department career official who oversees day-to-day operations at the agency, will testify in front of the Oversight Committee this week.
“Thursday, a hearing with the undersecretary for management, Mr. Kennedy, who will come and testify along with a host of others about how did they snooker the American public for years in filling these FOIA requests and the media, and what are they going to do to clean it up,” Chaffetz said.
Chaffetz blasted Hillary’s State Department, saying he “want(s) to know from the State Department how they misled the American public for so long.”
He added that they “essentially lied to the media, the world, and the public.”

In a letter to the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Chaffetz had written that an investigation needs to be undertaken in order to understand “why records were destroyed after Secretary Clinton and her agents were on notice to preserve them.”
The latest document dump from the FBI shows Clinton aides hid numerous cellular devices from scrutiny “by breaking them in half or hitting them with a hammer.”
Clinton also had aides destroy email evidence using a thorough process known as BleachBit, something Rep. Trey Gowdy said was designed to destroy messages “so even God couldn’t read them.”
