Breaking: Man With Backpack Full of Weapons Arrested at Trump Tower

A very scary situation went down at Trump Tower, as a man carrying a backpack loaded with a wide-range of weapons has been arrested.

Alexander Wang, a student at Baruch College, claimed he was on site to study Trump at his home base, declaring himself a supporter.

A metal detector however, alerted security guards to some suspect items in Wang’s backpack, and what they found is alarming.

Aside from the dangerous weaponry – multiple knives and a powerful explosive firework – security officials found items that could be used to restrain an individual, including rope, handcuffs, and “a wire typically used to strangle someone called a garrote.”

Via the New York Daily News:

Wang showed up at Trump Tower about 6:35 p.m. Monday and tried to get in at a checkpoint. When his bag set off the metal detector, the Secret Service moved in and asked him to open it.

Inside they found the hunting knife, an M-100 firework, a Swiss Army knife, a flashlight, handcuffs, an 8-foot black rope, a clear water gun, a laptop and a wire typically used to strangle someone called a garrote.

Wang was arrested by the NYPD for unlawful possession of fireworks and two counts of weapons possession — for the hunting knife and garotte.

Wang told police that he’s actually carried the loaded bag into Trump Tower on 10 prior occasions, including two days after Donald Trump won the election.

He was arrested shortly after former Texas governor Rick Perry, who had just been named to head Trump’s Energy Department, walked out of an elevator and into the building’s lobby.

Police found more explosives in his dorm room, though have found no link between Wang and terrorist organizations, terrorist materials, or firearms.

The young man claims he’s simply a survivalist who carries those items wherever he goes.
