“Journalist” Katie Couric was just caught manipulating footage in her new anti-gun documentary to make gun owners look stupid. The film Under the Gun shows Couric interviewing members of a Second Amendment group but it is edited in such a way as to make them look like they’re stumped by a simple question.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
At the 21:48 mark of Under the Gun a scene of Katie Couric interviewing members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a gun rights organization, is shown.
Couric can be heard in the interview asking activists from the group, “If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?”
The documentary then shows the activists sitting silently for nine awkward seconds, unable to provide an answer. It then cuts to the next scene.
Couric & Co. had to use deceptive editing to make the gun owners look like idiots because they actually had some brilliant responses to her question. Listen to the unedited audio below, as provided by VCDL (they had already suspected Katie Couric would dishonestly try to trick audiences with that interview.)
Pretty powerful stuff, you can see why they’d want to edit it out. But you won’t believe the director, Stephanie Soechtig’s, explanation for the 9 seconds of silence:
“My intention was to provide a pause for the viewer to have a moment to consider this important question before presenting the facts on Americans’ opinions on background checks. I never intended to make anyone look bad and I apologize if anyone felt that way.”
Oh, PUH-LEASE!!! You knew exactly what you were doing with this anti-gun propaganda piece and so do we!
I know they think we’re dumb, but I didn’t know HOW dumb!
Couric agreed, “I support Stephanie’s statement and am very proud of the film.”
Time for Couric to be fired and banished to the heap of other discredited journalists like Dan Rather and Brian Williams – NOW!
