Donald Trump Set to Cut Taxpayer-Funded Art

Hollywood can’t stand President Donald J. Trump. Why? Because Trump represents real Americans that Hollywood elites like Meryl Streep can’t relate to. Every award show is full of extended speeches attacking Trump. He really gets under their skin, and they donated millions to Hillary Clinton’s disastrous presidential campaign.

Now, all of the negative attacks are about to bite them! Trump is planning on making massive spending cuts to reduce the government’s waste by trillion of dollars, and on the chopping block are the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

As The Free Beacon reported:

The National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities would be eliminated, according to a new report on the administration’s spending priorities published by the Hill.

Both arts agencies have budgets of roughly $147 million. The NEA awards millions of dollars worth of grants for art projects each year, which have included plays about assassinating Christopher Columbus, food stamps, and gun-control activist lesbians, climate change poetry, and “Doggie Hamlet.”

Aside from the art agencies, the Hill reported the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, home of PBS and NPR, would be privatized, and the Commerce and Energy departments would “see major reductions in funding.”

It’s a small amount of savings, but the NEA is a classic example of wasteful government spending. We don’t need government to tell us what good art and quality entertainment looks like. And we don’t need to fork over our hard-earned dollars for “Doggie Hamlet.”

Art is important, and educated people should appreciate it. But there are enough people who visit museums, create art, and buy movies and books to never require so much government funding. PBS should be run privately. Children’s shows, such as Sesame Street, have already been sold to other networks and have been shown to be profitable. PBS and NPR should learn to adopt to market forces, instead of using taxpayer-dollars to fund liberal, biased broadcasts on public airwaves.

It’s time to shut down these wasteful government programs, and Trump is already making big steps toward doing so.
