Since the beginning of this campaign, conservatives have complained that Google was biased in favor of Hillary Clinton, promoting search results over the Democrat versus her Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump.
Well, new WikiLeaks emails show that that fear was not as far-fetched as some thought. We now know that Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, “offered a campaign plan to Hillary Clinton’s closest aids back in 2014.
Breitbart reports that Schmidt wrote to Clinton aide Cheryl Mills in 2014: “I have put together my thoughts on the campaign ideas and I have scheduled some meetings in the next few weeks for veterans of the campaign to tell me how to make these ideas better.”
It was also revealed that Schmidt wanted to be the so-called “head outside advisor” to the Clinton campaign, with John Podesta revealing that the Alphabet head was “ready to fund, advise, and recruit talent” for the Clinton campaign.
Given the level of involvement Google’s top brass have in the Clinton campaign, it should come as no surprise the readers of The Political Insider that the search engine would be biased in favor of the Democrat.
