The Hillary Clinton email scandal may not be over after all.
Two top Republican House committee chairmen sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia to formally request a criminal investigation into whether or not Clinton perjured herself when she lied under oath to Congress.
Director James Comey testified last week on why he failed to bring charges against the former Secretary of State, despite a myriad of evidence that she had broken the law. During an exchange with committee chairman Jason Chaffetz, Comey admitted that the FBI never bothered to investigate Clinton for possibly lying to Congress about her emails in past testimony because they were never given a referral to do so.
Flabbergasted, Chaffetz asked “Do you need a referral from Congress?”
“Sure do,” Comey responded.
“You’ll have one,” Chaffetz promised.

Republican lawmakers aren’t giving up on Hillary Clinton’s private email server yet.
On Monday House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., sent a letter to U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia asking for an investigation into whether she lied when testifying to Congress about her use of a private email server.
“The evidence collected by the FBI during its investigation of Secretary Clinton’s use of a personal email system appears to directly contradict several aspects of her sworn testimony,” Chaffetz and Goodlatte wrote in the letter.
“In light of those contradictions, the Department should investigate and determine whether to prosecute Secretary Clinton for violating statutes that prohibit perjury and false statements to Congress, or any other relevant statutes,” the letter continues.
During the same testimony last week, Comey admitted in a series of questions from Trey Gowdy that Clinton lied in several instances when she explained away her email scandal to the public.
The following is a small portion of that exchange:
Gowdy: “Secretary Clinton said there was nothing marked classified on her emails, either sent or received. Is that true?”
Comey: “That’s not true, there were a small number of portion markings on, I think, three of the documents.”
Gowdy: “Secretary Clinton said, ‘I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email, there is no classified material.’ Was that true?”
Comey: “There was classified material emailed.”
Chaffetz explained that this is precisely what the committee is seeking to investigate.
“Did she lie under oath to the American people?” he asked. “That’s what we want the answer to.”
The American people deserve that.
It’s amazing that Hillary managed to skirt the law with the FBI’s investigation. But she has a long history of being a perpetual liar.
