After New Benghazi Lawsuit Announced, Hillary Reached a New Low

Hillary Benghazi

Hillary Clinton and her legal team aren’t exactly kicking their feet back and relaxing post-election. Instead, they’ve taken their focus to battling a lawsuit brought against them by the families of victims in Benghazi.

Pat Smith, mother of Sean Smith, and Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, sued Clinton for defamation, wrongful death, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Her lawyers have now filed a motion to dismiss the case, with Clinton contending that she never called the parents “liars.”

But she did.

During an interview with the editorial board of the Conway Daily Sun, Clinton was presented with two choices – either the families of the Benghazi victims were lying when they claimed they were told the attack was caused by a YouTube video, or Clinton was lying when she said that she had not made those statements.

She pointed the finger squarely at the victims families. Sun columnist Tom McLaughlin asked which of the two were lying, and Clinton responded, “Not me.”

“Somebody is lying,” said McLaughlin.”Who is it?” Clinton replied, “Not me, that’s all I can tell you.” At the time, Clinton said, everyone was emotionally distraught.

Worse, despite all of the lying Clinton has done regarding the Benghazi attacks – from the YouTube video motive, to repeatedly claiming on the campaign trail that no Americans died in Libya under her tenure at the State Department – there was the suggestion that the parents of the victims were actually trying “to diminish our memory of them.”

Fox News anchor, and attorney Gregg Jarrett pointed out, the plaintiffs’ case is a weak one.

“From a purely legal standpoint, a roll of toilet paper has more value. No one doubts the heartache these parents have endured. And no one should question the valor of their sons who lost their lives. However, this lawsuit is so groundless and specious that it threatens to diminish our memory of them,” Jarrett wrote.

And Clinton’s attorney agreed. Kendall wrote:

In response, Secretary Clinton focused solely on her own recollection of the meeting, stating, “No.” She did not mention Plaintiffs’ recollection of the meeting or suggest a reason why their recollection differed from her own, and she certainly did not accuse them of lying. Secretary Clinton concluded her answer by recognizing Plaintiffs’ “continuing grief” and “loss”

This past summer, Clinton doubled down on her assertion that the victims families were lying about what she said.

She told Fox News anchor Chris Wallace that the families misunderstood her, and suggested that their grief over losing loved ones was what left them confused.

“As other members of families who’ve lost loved ones have said, that’s not what they heard,” Clinton asserted. “I don’t hold any ill feeling for someone who, in that moment, may not fully recall everything that was or wasn’t said.”

In short, the only one diminishing the memory of the victims in Benghazi is Clinton herself, by repeatedly calling their family members liars.
