President Obama told people to talk about guns over Thanksgiving – but those talks didn’t go quite the way he wanted.
The President wanted people to push their relatives to support a gun control agenda, even offering talking points for bringing the subject up at the table. If those talks happened at all, it seems like Americans nationwide came to a very different conclusion than the President.
According to the FBI spokesman Stephen Fischer said Black Friday shattered the single-day record for gun sales – with 185,345 background checks processed in a 24 hour period.
The number breaks down to slightly more than two background checks per second, or enough firearms to arm each of the 182,000 active duty members of the United States Marine Corps. Semper Fi!
Those numbers ignore the 20 states that allow millions of licensed concealed carriers to forego background checks on each purchase, in compliance with ATF guidelines. Also, more than one firearm can be purchased on a single background check. That means the number of firearms purchased on Black Friday is likely more than 200,000.
Regardless of how people feel about guns and what guns should be owned or not owned know this. People who legally own firearms will be considered at some point in time to be criminals. If you ask me, we are already labeled as such. The laws do not affect terrorists, gangs, drug cartels, or any actual criminal for that matter. The whole principle of these laws is control. And not control on crime. Control over the people.
The constitution was put into place by our forefathers. And they created the second amendment because they had fought a war against a tyrannical king. The right to own arms is not to hunt or shoot targets its to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government.
