Cop Refuses to Shoot Suspect For Fear of ‘Ferguson Effect’ – Gets Beaten Nearly to Death

**UPDATE**

Throughout the 2016 campaign, President Trump stressed the importance of respecting America’s police. Then-candidate Trump received the support of traditionally Democrat police unions because of his pledge to protect and support them.

Well, on Monday morning, President Trump will speak at the National Peace Officers Memorial Service, celebrating Peace Officers Memorial Day, which pays tribute to all peace officers who have died or were injured in the line of duty.

This is exactly why when a police officer is confronted by an out of control suspect who refuses to comply with orders, they need to fire their weapon in self-defense rather than wait to find out what happens.

Police officers in Chicago responded to an accident scene where they encountered a man under the influence of drugs. The man lunged for one of the officers, a woman who had served on the force for 17 years.

Instead of appropriately firing to defend herself, she held back “because she didn’t want her family or the department to have to go through the scrutiny the next day on national news.”

For that decision, the officer had her head repeatedly smashed into the pavement and was left unconscious, nearly to death.

Via the Chicago Tribune:

Chicago’s top cop said Thursday one of his officers was seriously beaten at an accident scene because the national focus on police shootings has caused officers to second-guess themselves.

Superintendent Eddie Johnson said the patrol officer told him she did not use her gun to defend herself for fear of a backlash.  “She didn’t want her family or the department to go through the scrutiny the next day on national news,” he said.

The injured officer, a 17-year Chicago police veteran, got into a struggle with a man who allegedly was high on PCP after she stopped at a crash scene in the Austin community on the West Side on Wednesday morning.

The suspect smashed the officer’s face into the pavement repeatedly until she was unconscious, police said.

In fact, it would appear all three officers at the scene overly-restrained themselves for fear of Black Lives Matter lunatics holding them up as racists, since all three were beaten severely and had to be hospitalized.

They chose to try to pull the crazed man off of their fellow officer rather than firing their weapons.

“This officer could [have] lost her life last night,” Johnson, who is black, stated. “We have to change the narrative of law enforcement across this country.”

Indeed, we do.

Even the leftists at the Washington Post referred to this vicious attack as an example of the “Ferguson Effect” – in which officers refuse to defend themselves for fear of becoming the next Darren Wilson, a Missouri officer who justifiably shot Michael Brown in self-defense, but was later portrayed in the media as a racist killer.

Black Lives Matter rioters and those that enable them – Hillary and President Obama, we’re looking at you – could have cost these officers their lives. Don’t they matter?
