Guess How Many of the ‘130 Million Mexicans’ Showed Up to Protest Trump?

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump arrived in Mexico City for what has been billed an unprecedented meeting with President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Since Trump has built his campaign around a relentless attack on illegal immigration with a particular focus on those coming across the southern border, and a desire by the American media to portray anyone enforcing border security as racist, you’d have thought protesters would be greeting him in droves.

In fact, former Mexican president Vicente Fox said during an interview with CNN that Trump “is not welcome to Mexico.”

“By 130 million people, we don’t like him, we don’t want him, we reject his message,” he proclaimed.

So it stands to reason, even if a small fraction of those 130 million people turned up to protest the way illegal immigration-loving Democrats do in our own country, there’d be a significant crowd.

Turns out, not so much.

Via the Daily Mail:

Donald Trump landed in Mexico City after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, on his way to a bilateral meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto – his first sit-down with a foreign leader since he launched his presidential campaign last year.

Only a handful of protesters turned up downtown near the presidential palace in advance of the historic meeting. And only a small contingent of foreign reporters and photographers were there to see it.

Trump’s campaign left the traveling press corps in Phoenix, where they arrived late Tuesday night in advance of a promised landmark speech Wednesday evening on the hot-button topic of immigration.

Even the far-left New York Times seemed stunned by the lack of protests, citing a social media campaign from liberals that actually called on anti-Trump people to rally together.

“By the start time of 11 a.m., there were dozens of journalist but only a few protesters,” the Times wrote. “A half-hour later, the number of protesters — at least those being vocal and carrying anti-Trump signs — seemed stuck at four, including a guy wearing a Mexican wrestling mask.”

That’s right, the big social media campaign to attract protesters in a country that supposedly hates Donald Trump managed to attract three guys and a luchador.

The Times report indicated that later on in the day, the number of protesters swelled to 10 – or roughly the size of last weekend’s backyard BBQ at my place.
