Cruz SLAMS Boehner: ‘I’m Going To Tell You Why He Resigned’

Conservative Senator Ted Cruz has a theory on why Speaker John Boehner announced his resignation last week, and it’s a theory that fits the mold of an establishment Republican who has allowed President Obama’s power to go unchecked for years.

The Political Insider’s own Rachel Mullen explained that Boehner cut and run last week in the midst of a battle on whether or not to shut down government to defund Planned Parenthood.

“Mainstream Republicans,” Mullen explained, “are hesitant to” shut down “as they are concerned more with the next election than the victims of Planned Parenthood.”

Cruz said that Boehner is staying on long enough to help the Democrats fund the government and Planned Parenthood, then leaving knowing full well that his actions would result in his ouster by conservatives in the House.

Watch Cruz blast Boehner on the Senate floor …

Via Western Journalism:

Cruz linked the resignation to plans Boehner made to pass a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government that also includes funding for Planned Parenthood, despite evidence the organization sells fetal parts.

“Speaker Boehner has decided to cut a deal with Leader Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the Democrats, that this dirty CR that’s going to be passed out of the Senate is going to go to the House, and the speaker is going to take it up on the floor, pass it with all the Democrats,” Cruz said.

“But here is the problem. Speaker Boehner’s done that more than once, and in this instance there were too many Republicans who were tired of seeing their leadership lead the Democrats, rather than lead the Republican Party,” Cruz said.

“I believe if Speaker Boehner had done that, had passed a dirty CR funding Planned Parenthood, funding this Iranian nuclear deal, that he would have lost his speakership.”

“So what did he do? He announced he’s resigning as speaker and resigning as a member of Congress,” Cruz said.

Cruz said that under Boehner’s leadership, “the votes were always cooked” in favor of funding Obamacare, amnesty, the Iranian nuclear deal, and Planned Parenthood.

If that is the case, then good riddance Speaker Boehner.
