Throughout the email scandal, Hillary Clinton has been saying that fellow former Secretary of State Colin Powell did the same things she did to excuse her actions.
Now we learn that Clinton tried to throw Powell under the bus when she told the FBI that he was the one who told her to use a personal email system. The New York Times reported on a conversation held between the former secretaries of state:
“Powell told her to use her own email, as he had done, except for classified communications, which he had sent and received via a State Department computer.”
Mr. Conason continued, “Saying that his use of personal email had been transformative for the department,” Mr. Powell “thus confirmed a decision she had made months earlier — to keep her personal account and use it for most messages.”
But when Powell heard about this he ripped into Hillary for using him as a scapegoat for her own email scandal, according to Page Six.
But Powell, who had said last week in a statement that he had no recollection of the conversation, told Page Six at Saturday’s Apollo in the Hamptons event, “The truth is she was using it (her personal email) for a year before I sent her a memo telling her what I did [during my term as Secretary of State].
“Her people have been trying to pin it on me.”
When asked why Clinton’s team were attempting to blame him, he responded, “Why do you think?”
Despite appearing angered by the situation, he added, “It doesn’t bother me. It’s okay, I’m free.”
He’s free, but Hillary should not be.

Let me count the ways in which the Clinton email setup ≠ the Powell email setup:
1. Clinton exclusively used a private email account to conduct State Department business. Powell did not.
2. Clinton had a private email server, located at her house. Powell did not.
3. The rules governing electronic communication changed considerably — and got more strict — between Powell’s time in office and Clinton’s.
…For whatever reason — and despite the fact that Clinton has said on several occasions that she knows she made a mistake — she seems incapable of accepting that responsibility and moving on. No secretary of state — up to and including Colin Powell — handled their email setup like Clinton. That’s a fact.
Hillary has been grasping at straws to try to explain away her misdeeds and is willing to take down anyone else with her – it’s about time she’s called out on it.
