The Trump transition team has announced that America’s favorite mayor, Rudy Giuliani, will be heading up a new cyber security team for the President-elect.

An announcement stated Giuliani “will be sharing his expertise and insight as a trusted friend concerning private sector cybersecurity problems and emerging solutions developing in the private sector.”

Via Fox News Insider:

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani announced on “Fox and Friends” Thursday that he will be heading up a new cyber security committee for President-elect Donald Trump.

The committee is set to meet with Trump on a regular basis to bring together leaders of the private sector to share their thoughts on the best cyber security methods.

“It’s his belief, which I share, that a lot of the solutions are out there. We’re just not sharing them. … My belief is, as always, that the answer to cyber security is gonna be found in the private sector,” Giuliani said.

Giuiliani has compared the scourge of cyber crimes to cancer and the mafia.

“We have to treat this like we treat other forms of crime where we don’t have a perfect solution,” he explained. “We just have better solutions. We don’t have a perfect solution to cancer, but that doesn’t mean we don’t look for early detection of cancer.”

He said hackers are essentially “a loosely affiliated kind of mafia.”

Naturally, liberals are furious:

The irony here is that, had these people mocking Giuliani been computer savvy themselves, they could have executed a basic Google search to learn that he does indeed have experience in the field of cybersecurity.

In January of 2016 he was named as Chair of the Cybersecurity, Privacy and Crisis Management Practice for the law firm Greenberg Traurig. He is also the Chairman and CEO of Giuliani Security & Safety, a security, investigative, and crisis management consulting firm.

Regardless, it’s safe to say he’s a better cybersecurity choice than some others. Like Hillary Clinton, who built a server in her bathroom, or John Podesta, who had his account hacked because he used the word ‘password’ as his password.
