A tow truck driver in North Carolina delivered a brutal lesson on government control and socialism to a stranded Bernie Sanders supporter earlier this week.
A woman was stuck on the side of the highway and called for help with her vehicle. The owner of the towing company drove quite a distance to get to the woman, but got out, saw a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker and accompanying sign, told her she should call the government for help instead, and left.
We’re not even vaguely kidding.

A local tow truck driver said he refused to tow a woman’s car after he saw Bernie Sanders stickers on the vehicle.
Kenneth Shupe said he was called to pick up a woman stranded on I-26 in Asheville on Monday.
When he saw “a bunch of Bernie Sanders stuff” he said he told the woman, “very politely,” that he could’t tow her car because she was “obviously a socialist” and advised her to “call the government” for a tow.
“Every business dealing in recent history with a socialist minded person I have not gotten paid,” Shupe said. “Every time I deal with these people I get ‘Berned’ with an ‘e’ not a ‘u’.”
Shupe is a a conservative Christian who supports Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. He said of the Sanders supporter, “I respect their beliefs, and I hope they respect my views.”

Duane Lester, founder of the Missouri Torch, posted the story to Facebook and said he “love(s) this.”
He added, “I think telling a socialist to call the government for help gets the point across.”
Others weren’t quite so sure that this was a good time and place for a lesson on socialism versus capitalism.
Follower Jeff Quinton wrote this summary in response to Lester’s post:
That’s a 2 hour round trip at least for him and 100 miles or more round trip. Gas is at least 2 bucks a gallon for diesel. He agreed to go when called and then changed his mind. Sounds like bad business and a crappy way to treat a fellow human being over a political disagreement.
The driver of the vehicle’s mother also took to Facebook and explained a lesson in capitalism that Shupe himself may have been missing.
“The only difference is that the Don would have taken the money,” she explained, “because he at least realizes that liberals’ money spends just the same as anyone else’s.”
Of course, in the end, maybe there isn’t that much difference between Trump and Sanders.
At one point during the campaign, Trump accidentally said he’s just like the socialist senator from Vermont. At other times though, he’s ripped the ‘maniac Communist.’
